The bolivian camelide breeders had the vision of development an corporation based on the cultural roots of the camelide breeders. There wasn't support of the government but the farmers in conjunction with the Integral Association of breeders of High Andes Camelide (AIGACAA), looking for to progress installed an agro industrial plant whose main activity is the processing of camelide fiber. This agro industrial plant is "Coproca". The Corporation was created on april 18, 1991 with the conformation of a high directive.

Since the foundation, the Company began with the objective of achieving a commercial place in the national and foreign markets, trough high quality products of natural fibers, ecological and new mixes of exquisite textura are it's objectives.

After inaugurate the Plant on november 18, 1994, COPROCA S.A., began to produce "Alpaca Tops", it was introduce to the nacional and international market. On Juny 23, 1999, with support of: FIA, ATI, Mercantil Bank, was inaugurated the process of spinning with the porpuse to give more value to the process of alpaca fiber.

Over 1200 families who raise alpacas and llamas, animal breading organizations and many other private persons.

The main objectives are: to add value to the camelide fiber, to generate sustainebly demand for the camelide fiber, to provide increased employment activity in the different process of the productive fiber chain, to provide raw material to the textile industry required by the export market, to improve the methods and practices for raising better quality camelides that will result in a higher income for the families dedicated to raising alpacas and llamas, to achieve competitiveness.
